Safety is a pillar of design throughout school campuses, including athletic facilities. Having a stadium that is secure and safe for the athletes, spectators, and visitors using it is imperative. Beyond safety and functionality considerations, providing students and the community with a visually attractive athletic complex cultivates gathering, connection, and promotes school spirit. Both the 2017 and 2023 Capital Improvement Projects at Chittenango CSD had athletic facility components that updated and improved existing facilities and developed a new complex. Scope included:
2017 Capital Improvement Project
- Replacement of synthetic turf football, lacrosse, and soccer field within track.
- Updated stadium amenities including goal posts and fencing.
2023 Capital Improvement Project
- Design of a new synthetic turf field for soccer, lacrosse, and softball with lighting.
- Field is complete with masonry dugouts, bullpens, windscreen, scoreboard, safety netting, bleachers, and fencing.
- Resurfacing of the track.
