In addition to district athletic programs, having safe, appealing, and quality athletic facilities is a benefit to all students and the community. Suitable outdoor spaces support physical and mental wellbeing as hubs for physical education classes, student athletics, community spaces for walking and exercising, and recreational activities. Grand Island CSD invested in their athletic complexes in multiple capital projects and our team had the privilege of designing striking facilities to better accommodate their athletic and physical education programs. Scope highlights of those Capital Improvement Projects below:

2019 Capital Improvement Project

  • Synthetic turf multi-sport complex to accommodate football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, baseball, and softball.
  • Complex complete with dugouts, concession building, bleachers, sports field lighting, fencing, walks, and scoreboards.
  • Replacement of eight tennis courts.

2017 Capital Improvement Project

  • Athletic field improvements including grading and drainage improvements, lawns, and infield work.
  • Irrigation at the softball field with provisions for future extension to the baseball field.
  • Storm water management improvements.
  • Vehicular circulation, parking, and pavement improvements.
  • Relocation of an existing light pole.
  • SPDES Permit and NYSDOT permitting for curb cut.
